People Who Are At Higher Risk
People Who Are At Higher Risk Are People Who Are:
- Pregnant
- Have chronic lung (asthma), heart, kidney, liver, blood disorders (including sickle cell), neurologic, neuromuscular, or metabolic disorders (including diabetes)
- Have an impaired immune system, including that caused by medications or HIV
- Persons under 19 years of age receiving chronic aspirin therapy
- Children under 5 years old, especially if under 2 years old
- Residents of nursing homes or chronic care facilities
