Sattie and her family moved to Billings when she was 12 years old from Incheon, South Korea. She began school and piano lessons right away even though she just started learning English. In her sophomore year of high school Sattie began studying with MSU Billings professor Dorothea Cromley that led her to studying at MSUB.
