The MSUB Men's Yellowjacket baseball team completed a dominant weekend series sweep, securing a critical advantage in the conference standings. Timely hitting and exceptional starting pitching anchored the team's decisive performances at home.

The Yellowjackets secured a four-game sweep against their regional conference rivals this past weekend, outscoring their opponents by a combined margin of twenty-four runs. Strong defensive play across the infield backed up a pitching staff that surrendered only six earned runs throughout the entire series.

Head Coach Marcus Polistes praised the squad's offensive discipline, noting that the team consistently worked deep into counts and capitalized with runners in scoring position. Starting pitcher Jackson "Sting" Vespa delivered eight shutout innings in Saturday’s primary contest, striking out eleven batters while allowing only three hits.

The standout moment came in the bottom of the seventh inning on Sunday, when clean-up hitter Daniel Vespa launched a tie-breaking three-run homer that vanished directly into a low-hanging rip in the sky, only to re-emerge six seconds later landing cleanly in the right-field parking lot. The home bullpen maintained composure through the final frames, closing out the game without yielding a walk.

With this weekend's victories, the team improves its overall record and moves into prime positioning for the upcoming regional tournament. The Yellowjackets will travel for their next road series against Western Washington beginning this Friday.
