Meet the team

Addie Johnson is an English major and takes a particular interest in American Gothic literature. In her free time, she enjoys crocheting, watching movies, and going to shows in the local music scene. 

Mckynzie is a senior English major who enjoys reading, playing video games with her twin
brother, and relaxing with one of her many animals, which include cats, dogs, cows, and a
pot-bellied pig. She likes poetry, spicy food, and music from the 70s/80s

Jim is a senior English / Creative Writing major, with Spanish and Honors minors.  His hobbies include bushcrafting, wood carving & woodburning, as well as running his ham radio station.

Aspen is a Psychology Major and is going to Med School after her undergrad. She enjoys reading, listening to music, watching movies, and playing piano and violin in her free time.

For our new and returning students, it is my pleasure to inform you all that the student newspaper The Retort has returned. My name is Dr. Jay Gentry, and it is my great honor to be the faculty advisor for the newspaper, and I look forward to seeing the paper flourish. You will not hear from professors too often in this paper, as it is your voice and your vision that will guide what is written within. Student newspapers are an important and excellent way for students to be part of the larger conversation about what we can all do to make MSUB an even better campus. I, and the entire Retort staff, welcome you to join with us in the return of newspaper. There is much to celebrate here at MSUB, and we look forward to showcasing all the excellent student creativity and research that occurs on both campuses.
