Terry Brockie

Terry Brockie, who carries the name Red Belt, is from the Fast Travelers clan of the Aaniiih (White Clay) Nation on the Fort Belknap Indian Reservation in North Central Montana. A lifelong advocate for his Tribal culture, Terry is deeply involved in language revitalization, Tribal history, and actively participates in his Tribe’s ceremonies.

He currently teaches his native language at Aaniih/Nakoda College and serves as a consultant in education and Tribal economic development. Terry’s leadership experience includes serving as the Chief Executive Officer of Island Mountain Development Group, a Tribally owned corporation, and as the Blaine County Superintendent of Schools. Additionally, he has spent many years as a dedicated educator in the public school system.

Terry is married and a proud father of two sons. In his free time, he enjoys family activities, being outdoors, teaching the Aaniiih language, participating in cultural events, officiating basketball, and attending powwows.
