An Exhibition by Chiyoko Myose
Treasuring the Moment showcases Japanese artist Chiyoko Myose’s interactive installation “A Thread X A Thread” that explores the significance of human encounters and connections. Myose’s paintings inspired by threads are also featured.
Chiyoko Myose is originally from Japan, and now lives in Wichita, Kansas. She holds a BA in English Literature from Doshisha Woman’s College in Kyoto, Japan and a BFA in painting from Wichita State University, Wichita, KS. Her works are primarily painting, and installation art. Chiyoko has been showing her works through exhibitions and commissions regionally, nationally, and internationally including Japan and Italy, while participating in artist residencies, artist workshops, and collaborations with other forms of art. Her recent large-scale solo exhibitions include the one at CityArts, Wichita, KS, Mid America Arts Alliance in Kansas City, MO, and Oklahoma Contemporary in Oklahoma City. She was awarded several awards including a Koch Cultural Trust Enabling Grant, a Wichita Arts Council Artist Grant, and KMUW 89.1 FM NPR Artist Series Award.
