Artist Statement

Artists spend years learning and refining their skills to achieve artistic success. However, an artist can get stuck by their own knowledge and be stifled by expectations. Artists are free to create their own rules but can then become bound by them. It is a difficult task to ask a learned artist to start without a plan- to allow lines to be made without purpose- to blindy start a piece without planning the outcome. Such an experience can be a needed reset and truly allow an artist to freely create.
