Studio Art Quilt Associates, Inc. (SAQA) defines the art quilt as "a creative visual work that is layered and stitched or that references this form of stitched layered structure."

Broad Spectrum 2020” is the follow-up to SAQA Montana/Idaho’s 2012 inaugural exhibition “Broad Spectrum: Contemporary Quilts of Montana and Idaho.”

This year, all members of the Montana/Idaho region were invited to explore the variety of meanings, images and experiences evoked by the theme “Broad Spectrum,” and to submit art quilts that interpreted the theme in their own unique way.

The exhibition proudly represents the SAQA Montana/Idaho region with works by 21 artists, chosen by juror Sarah Justice, Executive Director, Paris Gibson Square Museum of Art, Great Falls, Montana. "Broad Spectrum 2020" and associated programs are coordinated by Red Lodge-based artist, Maggy Rozycki Hiltner, Montana/Idaho Regional Representative of SAQA.

Artists included are: Brooke Atherton, Boo Billstein, Catherine Bilyard, Pat Budge, Donna Deaver, Joyce Ferrie, Gina Gahagan, Maggy Hiltner, Carol Kimble, Sally Kimmell, Monique Kleinhans, Linda MacDonald, Christine (Chris) Mullaney, Katy Nygard, Carol O'Bagy, Barbara Tylka, Naomi Velasquez, Pam Wells, Mary Zaun, Heidi Zielinksi, Deborah Zelenak.
