Outstanding Career Achievement Research and Creative Accomplishments Award

Dr. Ying Wang

Dr. Wang has been instrumental in peer-reviewed journal publishing efforts at the
MSUB College of Business over the past several years, with 25 published articles and
one recently accepted to her credit.
Since 2012, Dr. Wang has published at least once a year, with some years including
two or three publications. This significant research accomplishment reinforces her
dedication to intellectual contributions and scholarly work, according to a nominator.
The published work covers topics and areas such as earnings management, effective
tax rates of industry, ownership structure and corporate governance, as well as research
on tax policies related to Chinese companies.
“While the number of publications she has is outstanding, she also provides significant faculty support when it comes to guiding the department in decisions related to caliber of journal,” a nominator wrote. “With our accreditation by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, she has been instrumental in ensuring our new tenure and promotion guidelines include the rigor required to meet their standards. She can easily explain what types of journals should be considered and offers guidance to other faculty who may be struggling to execute their research agendas.”
In addition to her research, Dr. Wang has made a mark on the lives of undergraduate students in the College of Business. She continues to display a commitment to excellence in teaching, constantly adapting approaches to meet the needs of the student body. She has developed a curriculum that integrates newest accounting and tax policy with real world accounting challenges, providing students with a holistic understanding of the discipline.
