Sculpture
The Sculpture program at MSUB encourages hands on exploration of both contemporary and traditional approaches to three-dimensional art. Students learn and utilize many fabrication techniques including woodworking, steel fabrication, metal casting and mixed media processes. Sculpture is an expansive area of study where self-discovery, community engagement, cultural understanding, critical reasoning, and the ability to push the boundaries of design, material, form, concept, purpose and practice are emphasized.
The Sculpture Studio is a 1,600 square-foot indoor facility that includes a wood shop, metal shop, glass casting kiln, classroom workspace and individual student studio space. The outdoors facility of the Sculpture Studio includes a metal casting foundry, gas forge, student workspace and material storage.
