Biology is the study of living systems and is typically a fairly broad major. Students in the biology program will explore the basic processes of life from molecules to ecosystems. The B.S. Biology degree provides students with a solid foundation in the biological sciences while still providing them with the flexibility to focus on areas of interest such as botany, microbiology, or cell biology. The B.S. Biology degree can serve as a useful terminal degree or as preparation for graduate or professional schools. It is designed to provide excellent preparation for careers in research or professions in medicine, dentistry, and veterinary medicine.
