Jacket Men Play Exhibition Monday
(11/5/06)
BILLINGS, MT – The Montana
State-Billings men’s basketball team will play an exhibition
game at Rocky Mountain College on Monday. Tip off is scheduled
for 7:00 p.m. at Rocky’s Fortin Center. The game will be aired
live on AM 970 KBUL with the voice of the Yellowjackets, Pat
Boland, calling the action.
Monday’s game will be the
first of three preseason exhibitions the Yellowjackets have
scheduled. They will play an alumni game on Saturday, November
11, and host Rocky Mountain on Tuesday, November 14. The
Yellowjackets don’t open the regular season until December 1 and
2 when they play two games at a tournament in Nampa, ID.
The Yellowjackets were 20-8
overall last year and shared the Heartland Conference regular
season title. They advanced to the Heartland Conference
championship game, where they lost to St. Edward’s University.
Only four players return from last year’s team, none of which
started more than 11 games. Head coach Craig Carse is beginning
his twelfth season at MSU Billings.
Rocky Mountain College, an
NAIA team, has already played two regular season games. The
Bears are 1-1. They dropped their season opener to South Dakota
Tech before rebounding to defeat Black Hills State last week.
