Lady Jackets Face Hawaii-Hilo in Final Home Games (Oct. 30, 2004)

BILLINGS, MT – The Montana State University-Billings volleyball team meets University of Hawaii-Hilo for its final two homes games this season.  Monday’s match is a PacWest Conference game and Tuesday’s match will be MSUB Senior Day.  The Vulcans are 4-14 overall and 1-6 in the conference.  The Yellowjackets are 12-9 on the season and 3-5 in the PacWest Conference.

The Yellowjackets will honor their seniors at Tuesday’s match.  Senior Jessica Bachmann (Sr., RS, Gillette, WY) played for the MSUB women’s basketball team for four years, ending her career in the top 25 for points scored.  This season Bachmann has 48 games played, ten service aces and 16 blocks with four matches remaining.

Kari Jones (Sr., MB, Hermiston, OR) currently has a .242 hitting percentage for the season and a 1.13 K/G average.  Teammate Joanna Peterson (Sr., DS, Butte, MT) played her best match of the season last week in the upset against No. 21 Chaminade.  Peterson had 17 digs on the game.

Senior Andrea Donahue (Sr., MB, Whitefish, MT) has played 75 games thus far for the Yellowjackets and leads the PacWest Conference with a .363 hitting percentage.  Donahue also has 65 blocks for the season.  Cortney Lennen  (Sr., RS, Roundup, MT) has a .202 hitting percentage and 18 blocks for the season.  Lennen currently ranks 9^th for total blocks in school history with 173.  She is also ranked 9^th for block assists with 142. 

Olivia Munro (Sr., OH, Toronto, Canada) broke the school record for career kills at mid-season.  She currently has 1,216 career kills.  Munro is also currently ranked 2^nd for career digs in school history and 3^rd for digs in the PacWest Conference. 

Sophomore Jessica Bratton (So., OH, Casper, WY) is currently second on the team with 301 kills on the season ranking her 5^th in the PacWest.  Teammate Alberta Letoa (So., L, Laie, HI) is second behind Munro with 254 digs placing her 4^th in the PacWest.  Natalie Bills (So., S, Provo, UT) leads the team with 43 service aces.  Freshman teammate Alicia Cazemier (Fr., MB, Vauxhall, Canada) is tied with Donahue with 30 solo blocks on the season.

The Vulcan’s won their only conference match of the season against BYU-Hawaii.  Christina Cooley leads Hilo in kills with 200 on the season and a hitting percentage of .162.  Teammate Maite Ardies has a team leading 217 digs.

Monday’s match up will be held in Alterowitz Gym at 7:00 pm.  Tuesday is senior day and the match will also be at Alterowitz Gym at 7:00 pm.  The Yellowjackets will conclude their season next week with two matches at Western New Mexico University.
