Lady Jackets Host Hawaii Pacific October 15 & 16

BILLINGS, MT – After splitting wins with
BYU-Hawaii last weekend, the Yellowjacket volleyball team will host
Hawaii-Pacific at Alterowitz Gym Friday and Saturday at 7:00
p.m. The Yellowjackets face the Sea Warriors in a PacWest
conference match on Friday followed by a non-conference match on
Saturday.
The Yellowjackets (10-6, 3-3 PWC) are
having one on their best starts ever to a season, with key wins
occurring against Hawaii schools on their trip to the islands
last month.
In last week’s match-up against the
Seasiders, Jessica Bratton (So., OH, Casper, WY) had a combined total
of 20 kills in the two matches. Bratton leads the Yellowjackets
in kills for the season at 243 with a 4.26 average in kills per
game ranking her fourth in the PacWest conference.
Senior transfer Andrea
Donahue (Sr., MB, Whitefish, MT) continues her lead in the
conference with a .425 hitting percentage. Donahue is also
ranked 10th in the PacWest Conference for blocks per
game (.74). She is also third on the team for kills per game at
3.25, as well as blocking at .74 per game.
Senior Olivia
Munro (Sr., OH, Toronto, Canada) had 21 kills against BYU-Hawaii
last week and continues to be ranked in the PacWest Conference
for kills per game at 4.16 and fifth place. Munro also ranks
third in the conference for digs per game (4.33).
Alicia Cazemier (Fr., MB, Vauxhall, Canada) ranks fourth on
the team for kills per game (2.36) and has increased her hitting
percentage (.232). Cazemeir also ranks second in the PacWest
with 1.29 blocks per game.
Alexis
Sandru (So., OH, Twin Bridges, MT), Alberta
Letoa (So., L, Laie, HI) and Natalie
Bills (So., S, Provo,UT) are also conference stat leaders
for the Lady Jackets. Sandru is ninth in the conference for
service aces (.33). Letoa is fourth in the PacWest for digs per
game at 3.25. Bills ranks fifth in the conference for service
aces at .51 per game and third in the PacWest for assists (11.95
per game).
Previously ranked eighth in nation and
currently second in the PacWest conference, Hawaii- Pacific is
11-2 overall, and 5-1 in conference play. The Sea
Warriors have four of the top ten hitters in
the PacWest. Barbara Martin leads HPU and is ranked second behind
Donahue for hitting percentage (.411). Martin also leads the
conference in blocks per game with 1.37.
Flavia Brakling leads the Sea Warriors with
4.14 kills per game, with Nadica Karleusa following close behind
with 3.56 kills per game. Hawaii-Pacific has athletes ranked in
the PacWest conference in hitting percentage, kills, service
aces, assists and blocks per game.
The Yellowjackets host at Alterowitz Gym on
Friday and Saturday for their matches against Hawaii-Pacific
University and again on Wednesday the 20th, when they will meet the Battlin’ Bears from Rocky Mountain College. |
