Yellowjackets Lose 3-0 at Hawaii Pacific (Oct. 6, 2003)

BILLINGS, MT – The MSU Billings volleyball team lost
for the seventh-straight time by a score of 3-0 Monday night, falling at
eleventh-ranked Hawaii Pacific (30-20, 30-20, 30-23). The Yellowjackets
dropped to 3-13 for the season and 0-5 in the PacWest. The Sea Warriors
are 11-2, 4-0.
The current losing streak dates back to a 3-0 loss to
BYU-Hawaii on September 22 and includes two losses to the third-ranked
Seasiders and three losses to No. 11 Hawaii Pacific. The last time MSUB
won a game was in a 3-0 win against Rocky Mountain on September 17. The
task won’t get any easier for the Jackets as they will play at BYU-Hawaii
Tuesday night to wrap up their four-match trip to Hawaii.
Olivia Munro led MSUB with a double-double of 11 kills and 10 digs. Cortney Metzler added eight kills and three block assists. Katrina
Dahlgren had three block assists to draw to within eight block assists
for second place on the Yellowjackets’ all-time career list. She has 192
and is chasing Tegan Harris’s 200. Dahlgren also maintains her No. 3
ranking in the PacWest with 1.07 blocks per game.
After Tuesday’s match at BYU-Hawaii, the
Yellowjackets will be idle until they play at Western New Mexico on
October 17 and 18. They will play at Rocky Mountain on October 22 and end
their seven-match road swing when they host Chaminade on October 31. |
