MSU BILLINGS NEWS — Montana State University Billings and Stockman Bank are excited to announce a new scholarship that will strengthen career pathways for students who want to complete a bachelor’s degree at MSU Billings after earning a degree at Miles Community College. The Stockman Bank NextStep Endowed Scholarship will grant two awards to students that choose to further their education at MSU Billings.

One female and one male MCC transfer student will have the opportunity to be awarded one of two $500 scholarships. The application deadline is July 15, 2019.

MSU Billings and Stockman Bank acknowledge that financial stability is a driving factor in student success, which can be a concern for many. These scholarships will help lessen the financial burden placed on students in hopes of increasing enrollment and furthering academic success.

To be eligible for this award, students must earn an associate’s degree from MCC, and be enrolled in nine or more credits in a bachelor’s degree program at MSU Billings. Montana residents with a 2.5 GPA or above will be considered and selected based on financial need and several other criteria.

A press conference will be held on Tuesday, May 7 in Miles City at 5:30 p.m. at Stockman Bank West, on the corner of Bridge and Seventh St., to announce and celebrate this new scholarship. Stanley Markuson, Miles City Market President, will speak at the press conference along with Chancellor Dan Edelman, MSU Billings Foundation President/CEO Bill Kennedy, and MCC President Stacy Klippenstein.

Those who have been admitted to MSU Billings can apply for this scholarship and hundreds of others by completing the MSU Billings Scholarship Application here.
