MSU BILLINGS NEWS SERVICES — Montana State University Billings vocal performance major Katelynn Leora Meyer, contralto, will present her senior recital on Saturday, April 9, at 7:30 p.m., in Cisel Recital Hall.

 

The daughter of Mary and Leonard Meyer, Meyer graduated from Senior High School in Billings, and has studied voice with Assistant Professor Douglas Nagel since 2013.

 

She has been an active participant in the MSU Billings Chamber Singers and University Choir, and has also been in many community productions including “Les Misérables,” “Aïda,” “Susannah,” and “Gianni Schicchi.”

 

Recently, Meyer was accepted into the prestigious American Institute of Musical Studies summer program in Graz, Austria. She has also accepted her first professional, operatic role as Second Lady in NOVA’s “Die Zauberflöte” in 2017.

 

Meyer will be accompanied by pianist Tim Schoessler, and vocalists Malia Howell, Brooke Moncada, Raegan Bunting and Marisa Getchell. Her program will consist of works by Rossini, Verdi, Mahler, Wagner, Chausson and Tchaikovsky. 

 

Admission is free of charge and open to the public.
