Lady Jackets Wrap up Fall Golf Schedule

ALAMOSA, Colo. – The Montana State Billings
women’s golf team finished its fall schedule Tuesday at the
Grizzly Invitational hosted by Adams State College. The
Yellowjackets were unable to gain ground in the final round,
finishing 11th in the 11-team tourney.
Amy Nordeen (Hamilton) improved three spots
in the second round to lead the Yellowjackets with a 27th place
finish. She shot an 84 on Tuesday to post a two-round total of
173. Also scoring for MSUB were Nicole Salsbery (Malta) in 47th
with a 194, Samantha Steffanich (Billings) in 55th with a 210,
and Karrie Brack (Livingston) in 57th with a 218. Lindsay
Erickson (Helena) carded a 92 on Monday but withdrew on Tuesday.
West Texas A&M held off a hard-charging
Western New Mexico for the team title. The Lady Buffs used
rounds of 304 and 316 to finish 52-over as a team. WNMU shot a
309 on Tuesday, but fell three strokes short. Top individual
honors went to WTAMU’s Mollie Peterson. She shot back to back
75s for an 8-over 150 and defeated teammate Stephanie Boldger on
the second hole of a sudden death playoff. Boldger shot rounds of 73 and 77.
