Lady Jacket Golfers Picked Seventh in RMAC Poll
BILLINGS, Mont. – The
Montana State Billings women’s golf team has been picked
to finish seventh in the Rocky Mountain Athletic
Conference in a recent preseason poll by league
coaches. The Lady Jackets are entering their first year
as associate members of the RMAC after spending the
previous two seasons in the Heartland Conference.
Last year’s champion
Western New Mexico has once again been picked to stand
atop the conference standings with Mesa State and Fort
Hays State ranked second and third respectively. The
Mustang’s have won three-straight conference titles with
senior Tina Bickford chosen as the RMAC Preseason Golfer
of the Year. The senior averaged 79.31 for the
2006-2007 season.
The Yellowjackets return
four golfers from last season’s roster including Amy
Nordeen (Hamilton, Mont.) who led the Lady Jackets with
a tenth place finish at the Heartland Conference
Championships held in Dallas last April. Nordeen’s
teammates include Jessica Boyer, Karrie Brack, Shayla
Couture, Lindsay Erickson, Calina Finnicum, Courtney
Ladue, Nicole Salsbery, and Samantha Steffanich.
The Lady Jackets open the
2007-2008 season at the University of Nebraska-Kearney
Invitational September 10-11.
