PHOENIX, Ariz. – The Montana State Billings
women’s golf team completed the Grand Canyon Invitational with a
team score of 716 on the par 72, 6025-yard Palm Valley Golf Club
course.
“I was pleased with the fact we improved from
day one to day two,” MSUB head coach Kevin Woodin said. “We had
two players post personal bests during the weekend. They are young, but talented golfers and I look for them
to continue to improve.”
Leading the way was Amy Nordeen who carded an
opening round of 85, followed by MSUB’s best score for the
tournament, 79, in the second round. Lindsay Erickson fired two round total of 169 and Nicole
Salsbery had a 188. Jessica Boyer and Karrie Black rounded out the team with a 195
and a 205 combined score, respectively.
The Yellowjackets return home this weekend
playing at Peter Yegen on Saturday and Briarwood on Sunday as
MSUB, Carroll College, Montana State and Rocky Mountain all will
compete in a 36-hole event. |
