Yellowjacket Baseball
Inks First Signee for 2008-09
BILLINGS,
Mont.
– Montana State Billings head baseball coach, Chris Brown,
announced that Andrew Vennum will play baseball for the
Yellowjackets this fall.
“We are extremely excited to have Andy
Vennum join the Yellowjacket baseball family,” Brown said.
“He is a very good student that has a tremendous work ethic in
the classroom as well as on and off the field. Andy has
had a lot of success at the high school and legion level and we
anticipate that to continue here. He brings a lot to the
table and has just started to realize his true potential.
We project Andy competing for playing time immediately in the
outfield and on the mound.”
Vennum, a native of Spokane, Wash., played
at West Valley High School where he was a first team all-league
pitcher as a junior and was named league Most Valuable Player
his senior year.
During his senior season, Vennum had a 7-1 record and a 1.2 ERA
for West Valley. In
addition, he hit six home runs and batted an astonishing .650 as
a senior. Vennum
helped to lead his team to district and regional champions.
