MSUB Indoor Track and Field Finish Eighth at GNAC Indoor
Championship
Results
NAMPA, Idaho – The Montana State Billings
men’s and women’s indoor track and field teams finished eighth,
respectively in the 2008 Great Northwest Conference Indoor
Championship Monday.
It was the first time MSUB was competing for a conference
indoor championship in the GNAC.
Western Oregon won the men’s team title,
while Seattle Pacific won the women’s.
MSUB was just two points out of seventh, behind Saint
Martin’s on the women’s side.
On the women’s side, freshman
Kacie
Vanderloos finished second in the shot put to lead the
Yellowjacket women.
She had a personal record 11.75 – 38-6 3/4 for the event.
Fellow freshman
Lexi
Halvorson finished eighth in the shot put, too.
In addition, junior
Micah Merrill-Johnson finished eighth in the mile with a
time of 5:22.80.
The 4X400 relay team finished seventh with a time of 4:19.14
On the men’s side, senior
Richie
Pemberton finished seventh in the 5,000 meters at 15:48.07,
while the 4 X400 relay team finished sixth with a time of
3:46.73. In
addition, the distance medley team finished sixth as well with a
time of 11:15.01.
The teams will return home and prepare for
the outdoor season which begins on Mar. 22 at the Frostbite
Invitational at Black Hills State College.
