Schaub Resigns to Take
Head Coaching Position at Montana State
BILLINGS, Mont. – Montana State University
Billings Director of Athletics Dr. Gary Gray announced that head
volleyball coach Sara Schaub has resigned to take the head
coaching position at Montana State University in Bozeman. A national search for a replacement will begin
immediately.
“We have enjoyed having Sara as our head
volleyball coach this past year and we wish her all the best at
MSU Bozeman,” Gray said. “I know she will do well in the Big Sky. Now we need to get busy and find a great replacement.”
Schaub spent one season at MSUB where she
guided the Yellowjackets to an 18-10 record overall and a 10-8
mark in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference. In just its second conference match in the GNAC, Schaub
led MSUB to an upset-win at defending champion Seattle Pacific,
3-1. The
Yellowjackets went on to finished tied for fifth with Seattle
Pacific in the highly-contested GNAC.
Prior to MSUB, Schaub spent four years as an
assistant coach at Division I Eastern Michigan where she helped
lead the Eagles to their first Mid-American Conference West
Division Championship in 2005.
Originally from Huron, Ohio, Schaub was a
four year starter at Eastern Michigan University as an outside
hitter. She
graduated from EMU in 2001 with a bachelor’s degree in business
administration and accounting information systems. In 2002, she received her master’s degree in accounting,
graduating Magna Cum Laude.
