RICHLAND, Wash. – The Montana State Billings
softball team split a pair of matches on the first day of the
Clarion Hotel Central Washington Invitational at Columbia Field. The Yellowjackets dropped the opener 3-1 to Sonoma State
and rebounded with an 8-0 victory over Great Northwest Athletic
Conference foe Northwest Nazarene.
Sonoma State opened the game with three runs
in the first two innings off Yellowjacket hurler Lindsey Trenary. The run in the first inning came off a lead-off double,
followed by a sacrifice bunt and a singe. In the second inning, Trenary walked three of the first
four batters and a sacrifice bunt before head coach Tony Stone
went to the bullpen. Rebekah Tsatsa relieved Trenary after one and two thirds

prevent any more runs.

3-1 lead. That
would be all MSUB would be able to muster.

a hit in the game with Parson hitting her second round-tripper
of the season. Tsatsa went five and a third allowing two hits, no runs, three
walks and seven strikeouts. Trenary picked up the loss.

Yellowjackets as they defeated GNAC foe Northwest Nazarene 8-0
in five innings. MSUB exploded for a season-high 15 hits and eight runs in the
game. Lisa Moore
(1-2) went the distance allowing five hits, two walks and two

on a sacrifice RBI and a single and a RBI double by Moore.
The Jackets added three runs a piece in the
fourth and fifth innings to blow the game open. Leslie Davis had a two run double in the fourth and
Jessica Frank had a two run triple in the fifth.
MSUB had four extra base hits in the game. Davis was 3 for 4 with two RBI and Terina Stacks was 3
for 3 with a stolen base and a RBI. In addition, Crystal Bentley was 3 for 3 with a RBI and
