Softball Drops Fourth

SEATTLE, Wash. – No. 11 Seattle University
defeated Montana State Billings 5-1 in a non-conference softball
game on Sunday afternoon.
With the loss the Yellowjackets fall to 6-13 on the year,
while Seattle improves to 15-1.
It was the fourth consecutive loss for MSUB and eighth in
the past 10 games.
Seattle jumped on the board quickly with
three runs in the first two innings.
Four consecutive singles to begin the game gave the Owls
a 2-0 lead. In the
second inning, SU had a RBI double making the score 3-0.
The Redhawks increased the lead to 5-0 in the
fifth inning on a RBI single and a RBI fielder’s choice.
The Yellowjackets got on the board in the
sixth inning on a RBI single by Lisa Moore for a 5-1 score.
MSUB went down in order in the seventh.
Kelly Parsons led the Jackets going 2 for 3
for the game. Moore
went 1 for 3 with the RBI.
Lindsey Trenary (0-2) takes the loss in four and one
third innings of work.
She allowed nine hits, five runs – three earned, three
walks and four strikeouts.
The Yellowjackets will return home for the
season opener at Cenex Field on Wednesday at 11 a.m. against
University of Mary in a doubleheader.
