Frank and Moore Earn
GNAC Weekly Hardware
BILLINGS, Mont. – After an impressive week
for the Montana State Billings softball team, senior Jessica
Frank and junior Lisa Moore picked up some weekly hardware as
they both were named Great Northwest Athletic Conference Player
and Co-Pitcher of the Week, respectively.
Frank continued her impressive senior
campaign helping the Yellowjackets to a 5-1 road record this
week, including a sweep of then-first-place Central Washington.
She hit .542 in six games this week as she led the team
with 13 hits, six extra base hits in 24 at bats. Frank had
two doubles, two triples, two home runs and nine RBI for a 1.042
slugging percentage and 25 total bases. In a game at
Northwest Nazarene on Saturday, she went 3 for 5 with two
triples. On Saturday in a doubleheader sweep of NNU, she
went 7 of 10, a double, two triples, one home run, six RBI and
15 total bases.
For the season, she leads the team with
three triples, nine home runs, 28 RBI and 84 total bases.
She is slugging a team-best .730 on the year and is
leading the team in stolen bases with 12 of 13 swipes.
Moore, also had a very impressive week as
she was named co-pitcher of the week.
Moore went 4-0 this week with a 1.94 ERA. She won
both decisions as MSUB swept a doubleheader at Central
Washington who was in first-place in the GNAC at the time.
She made five appearances with three starts and three complete
games in 21.2 innings of work. She allowed 17 hits, nine
runs –six earned, 21 strikeouts and eight walks. Opponents
hit just .213 against her. In the series with CWU, she
pitched a masterful performance, allowing just one run and three
hits in the opener and relieved Rebekah Tsatsa in the nightcap,
picking up the victory in a 4-3 win.
The Yellowjackets continue on the road with
doubleheaders at Western Oregon and at Saint Martin’s Friday and
Sunday, respectively. |
