Softball Inks Eighth
Recruit for 2008-09
BILLINGS, Mont. – Montana State Billings
head softball coach, Anthony Stone, announced Thursday that
Ontario, Ore., native, Ashley Moeller has signed a national
letter of intent with the Yellowjackets.
“Ashley is a tough player who isn’t afraid
to make sacrifices for her team and possesses a tireless work
ethic that will be a welcome addition to the Yellowjackets,”
Stone said. “She’s one of those kids who can take a
setback and turn it into a positive, which is a necessary
attribute to any team. We are very excited she chose Montana
State University Billings to further her education and softball
career.”
Moeller, a 5-2 utility player, played high
school softball at Malheur County in Ontario, Ore. She
lettered in soccer and softball all four years and earned
numerous accolades in both sports. In softball, Moeller
was a first team all-conference selection and Most Valuable
Player in 2006-07 and her team finished second in state and
qualified for the national tournament. Ashley is the younger
sister of Megan Moeller, who played two years for the
Yellowjackets after a successful career with the Mount Hood
Saints, a junior college in Gresham, Ore.
Moeller joins pitcher Josie Grotbo of
Helena, Mont., and Amanda Hood of Hamilton, Mont., as the third
recruit to join the Yellowjackets for the spring signing period.
Stone signed five players in fall, including Kasie Conder of
Corvallis, Mont., bringing the total for the 2008-09 recruiting
season to eight. |
