Charles, a sophomore forward from Weymouth,
England, became just the second player in GNAC history to amass
40 points in a single season. Charles had one goal and an
assist in last week’s 2-0 shutout win over Seattle Pacific
University. Charles’ 19 goals and three assists this season for
a total of 41 points trails only Seattle University’s Bobby
McAllister’s 49-point production from the 2004 season when he
led Seattle University to the NCAA Division II national title.
The Yellowjackets finished the regular
season October 27th with a 5-0 win over the University of Great
Falls, pushing the Jackets’ record to 13-4-1 overall, and 5-2-1
in conference play.
The Yellowjackets have clinched second
place in the GNAC standings, priming the team for its first ever
NCAA appearance. The playoff berths will be announced November
5th with the tournament set for November 8-12. |
