Jackets Slip One Spot to Fifth
BILLINGS, Mont. – After ranking fourth in
last week’s NCAA Regional Poll, the Montana State Billings men’s
soccer team fell one spot to fifth following Tuesday’s
rankings. This comes less than a week after the Yellowjackets
knocked off Seattle Pacific University, 2-0, to close out the
conference season at home.
The Jackets finished the season 13-4-1
overall and 10-2-1 against regional opponents. MSUB was
overtaken in this week’s poll by Grand Canyon University. The
‘Lopes are currently 10-4-4 against Far West Region teams with
games against BYU-Hawaii (9-8-0) and Hawaii Pacific (6-9-0)
remaining on their schedule.
Following the NCAA Men’s Soccer Committee
selection show on Nov. 5, the top four teams in the Far West
Region will be invited to the NCAA Tournament held Nov. 8-12 at
the number one seed.
The top three teams in the poll remained
steady with Seattle University (14-2-0) ranked first in the Far
West Region, followed by Sonoma State (16-2-1) at No. 2 and Cal
State Dominguez Hills (15-2-0) at No. 3.
