GREAT FALLS, Mont. – The Montana State
Billings men’s soccer program continued their roll closing out
the regular season with a 5-0 shutout win over University of
Great Falls Saturday. The Yellowjackets improved to 13-4-1,
while the Argos fell to 5-9-0.
The Yellowjackets scored three first half
goals beginning with Dylan
Barnard (Bozeman). Barnard scored his first goal of the
season and the eventual game-winner off an assist from Scott Dixon (Dorset, England). Jurell
Linford (Missoula) scored an insurance goal, his second of
the season, and was assisted by Chris Andre (Billings). Dixon rounded out the Yellowjackets’ first half
scoring on an unassisted goal, the first of his collegiate
career at MSUB.
Andre and Jeremy
DeHerrera (Kalispell) scored second half goals, both were
assisted by Linford.
The Yellowjackets posted the best season in
the program’s 12-year history and are waiting to see if their
efforts were enough to grant them their first ever NCAA
Tournament appearance. The final NCAA regional rankings are set
to be released Nov. 5. |
