SEATTLE, Wash. – The Montana State Billings
men’s soccer team fell 1-0 in the 104th minute
against No. 15 nationally-ranked Seattle University Monday
afternoon. The Jackets are 7-2-1 overall and are holding onto
the lead in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference with a 3-2-1
league record. Seattle improved to 7-2-0 with today’s win, and
is 2-1-0 in conference play.

In a primarily defensive battle through 90
minutes of regulation, Seattle University’s Jason Cascio finally
broke through the Jackets’ back line in the second overtime to
score at 104:08. The goal was Cascio’s third of the season, and
was assisted by Ian Walsh and David Raney.
The Yellowjackets were outshot 17-6 in the
contest with Seattle holding a 6-2 shots on goal advantage. Kyle
Moriarty (Bozeman) and Sam Charles (Weymouth, England) had a shot on goal each for the
Yellowjackets.
Sander
Tollefson (Missoula) had a productive day in goal tackling
five saves making it the most saves in a single game this season
for the sophomore keeper. Jordan Jennings posted two saves in
his effort for the Redhawks.
The Jackets return to Billings to host
Colorado Christian (0-9-0) in non-conference action Saturday,
September 29. Kickoff is 1:00 p.m. at the College of
Technology. |
