Yellowjacket Men’s Golf in 11th after First Round of Cactus Thaw
Day One Results
SILVER CITY, N.M. – The Montana State
Billings men’s golf team sits in 11th-place after the first
round of the second annual Cactus Thaw Intercollegiate Golf
Classic at the 6400-yard, par 71 Silver City Golf Course.
The Yellowjackets fired a team score of 323
for the day and Western New Mexico leads the 36-hole event with
a score of 289.
MSUB was led by junior Michael Konrad who
fired a team-best 75 in the first round. Konrad is tied for 13th. Senior Tyler Nicholas opened with an 81and is tied for 45th. Junior Jeff Allen is tied for 50th after
carding an 82, while Mike Watson and senior Jason Kinsey each
fired an 85.
Individually, Marcus Molina of Western New
Mexico had the low-round of the day firing a 67. Teammate Greg Pool is in second after carding a 72.
The field will complete the tournament
tomorrow with an 18-hole round.
