Lady Jackets Add Keeper (5/10/07)
BILLINGS, MT – Montana
State-Billings women’s soccer coach Don Trentham announced
Thursday that Brittany Knudtzon has signed a national letter of
intent to play for the Yellowjackets. Knudtzon is a 5-foot-8
goalkeeper from Kent, Washington.
“Brittany is a great late
addition to our squad,” said Trentham, who signed 10 high school
players in February. “She will join current Yellowjacket
goalkeeper Kaily Hoffman and incoming freshman goalkeeper Jordan
Fenwick in competing for the starting role for the 2007 season.
Brittany is very athletic and is very confident in her
abilities. It will be exciting in the fall to watch the three
goalkeepers compete day in and day out for the starting spot.”
Knudtzon will graduate from
Kentwood High School where she lettered three times. As a
senior, she was named Tacoma All-Area Second Team, team MVP,
team Most Inspirational, and team captain. She posted seven
shutouts as a senior, helping the Conks reach the first round of
the state tournament. In Knudtzon’s junior season, Kentwood won
the SPSL championship and the West Central District
championship.
“I chose MSUB because I always
felt at home in Montana when I visited my aunt Debby, who was a
2006 MSUB grad,” said Knudtzon. “When I visited for soccer, I
felt like I fit right in with the team, I enjoyed the campus,
and I felt I would truly be happy there. I am very excited for
this year and the years to come.” |
