Jackets’ Guy HLC Player of the Week

BILLINGS, MT –Montana
State-Billings women’s soccer player Jelisa Guy was named
Heartland Conference Player of the Week for the week of Sept.
11-17. The award is Guy’s first and the program’s fourth
straight this season. Guy joins teammates Ally Stroup, Samantha
Boehm, Abby Bennett, Brittney Sandau, and Megan Plank on the
list of Lady Jacket soccer honorees.
Jelisa Guy, a freshman midfielder from Kalispell, Montana
broke numerous school records in leading Montana State-Billings
to an 18-1 win over Texas A&M – International on Saturday,
improving the Yellowjackets’ record to start the
season to a school-record 9-0-0. Guy found the net five
times and assisted on four other goals for 14 points, setting
school single game records for goals, assists and points. Guy
fired 11 shots in the game, seven of which were on goal. In
Tuesday’s 2-0 upset road win against defending Heartland
champion Incarnate Word, Guy had three shots, two shots-on-goal
and an assist. She now ranks second in the conference for
points, goals and assists.
The Lady Jackets play Rocky
Mountain College Wednesday at Daylis Stadium. It will be the
first collegiate night soccer game in Montana with kickoff set
for 7:00 p.m. |
