Lady Jackets Soccer Drops in Regional Poll

BILLINGS, MT – The Montana
State-Billings women’s soccer team fell three spots in the NCAA
Midwest Region poll released by the NCAA Women’s Soccer
Committee on Wednesday. The Yellowjackets lost two regional
road games last week to fall to 11-3-0 overall and 6-2-0 against
regional teams.
MSU Billings entered last week
ranked No. 1 in the Midwest Region. They lost 5-0 at Metro
State on Friday and 1-0 at Regis University on Sunday. Metro
State entered the week ranked second in the region. The
Roadrunners reclaimed the No. 1 spot in this week’s regional
poll, and Regis moved into the poll at No. 8 after not being
ranked last week.
The Yellowjackets also fell
from No. 1 to No. 5 in the coaches’ poll conducted by the
National Soccer Coaches Association of America. MSUB tumbled
all the way out of the NSCAA’s national top 25 after climbing to
as high as No. 8 last week. The coaches’ polls conducted by the
NSCAA are unofficial. The regional poll released by the NCAA
Women’s Soccer Committee determines the four teams that qualify
for the NCAA Tournament from each of NCAA Division II’s eight
regions.
