DII Bulletin Names Lieber to All-American Team

State-Billings forward
Michelle Lieber has been named to the Division II
Bulletin All-American Honorable Mention Team. Lieber is a
senior from Gillette, Wyo.
Lieber averaged 17.2 points
and 9.1 rebounds a game this season, leading the Yellowjackets
to a 22-10 overall record. MSU Billings won its second-straight
Heartland Conference regular season title and the Heartland
Conference Tournament title. The Yellowjackets qualified for
the NCAA Tournament for the tenth time in the last 14 seasons
and the eleventh time since 1987. In Lieber’s three seasons at
MSU Billings, the Yellowjackets won two regular season
conference titles, one conference tournament title, and
qualified for the NCAA Tournament two times.
Lieber adds the DII Bulletin
All-American honor to the list of awards she received this
season. She was named the 2007 Heartland Conference Player of
the Year, an award she won for two-straight years, and was also
selected to the Daktronics All-South Central Region Second
Team. Lieber was named the Heartland player of the week four
times this year.
Lieber led the nation in field
goal percentage, shooting 68.1 percent for the season. In her
three-year career at MSUB, Lieber became one of only seven
players to amass over 1,000 career points and 700 career
rebounds. She finished with 1,115 points and 740 rebounds,
ranking seventeenth and sixth in school history respectively.
Her 66.45 percent career field goal percentage broke the old
school record by nearly six points, and she set the top three
single-season marks for field goal percentage at MSUB. |
