ODESSA, TX – The Montana
State-Billings volleyball team downed Texas A&M – Permian Basin
for the second night in a row winning in three straight games,
34-32, 30-17, and 30-19. This marks the sixth straight win for
the Jackets, improving them to 10-3 overall while the Falcons
fall to 4-11.
The Jackets’ Ali Watson (Calgary, Alberta) pounded out a game-high 17 kills and had a
blistering .516 attack percentage. Watson also served up three
aces. Jessica Bratton (Casper, WY) continues her pursuit of the
No. 1 spot in school history for career kills adding 15 to her
total. Teammate Alicia Cazemier (Vauxhall, Alberta) posted 11 kills for a
.231 attack percentage and had three blocks on the night. Alexis
Sandru (Twin Bridges, MT) and Nicole
Kruse (Huntley, MT) had 10 digs apiece.
The Falcons were led by
Krystal Polk who had 14 kills with a .357 attack percentage.
Polk also had three solo blocks. Amithy Henry added 11 kills
while teammate Amber Zant had 10 digs.
As a team the Yellowjackets
posted a .367 attack percentage, hitting a scorching .472 in the
third game. In total, the Lady Jackets had 58 kills on 120
attempts with six service aces.
The Yellowjackets return to
Billings to meet cross-town rival Rocky Mountain College
Tuesday, September 19 at Rocky before opening Heartland
Conference play against Dallas Baptist University September 22
and 23 at Alterowitz Gymnasium. Match time is 7:00 p.m. |
