Three Jackets Named All-Tournament

SAN ANTONIO, TX – Montana
State-Billings softball players Jessica Frank, Terina
Stacks, and Jenna Haacke were named to the Heartland
Conference All-Tournament Team on Saturday. The
Yellowjackets went 2-2 at the tourney, losing out to
Incarnate Word 7-5 in 13 innings Friday night. MSUB
finished its season 26-24.
Frank (Great Falls, MT) and
Stacks (Washougal, WA) were selected as
all-tournament infielders.
Haacke (Billings, MT) was the all-tournament
designated player. Frank batted .462 with four runs and
three RBIs in the four games. She had a double and a
home run, posting a .769 slugging percentage. Stacks
batted .467 with four runs and two RBIs. The conference
leader for batting average and doubles, Stacks doubled
three times in the tournament. Haacke batted .333 with
four runs and three RBIs. She hit two home runs and had
a .733 slugging percentage.
Malissa Magee of St. Mary’s and
Patty Madera of Incarnate Word were named the
tournament’s co-most valuable players. St. Mary’s won
the tournament title for the seventh-straight year,
earning the Heartland Conference’s automatic spot in the
NCAA Tournament. The Rattlers defeated regular season
champion St. Edward’s 6-0 in the title game. St.
Edward’s is likely to receive an at large berth to the
NCAA Tourney.
