(6/12/07)
BILLINGS, MT – Montana State
University Billings assistant softball coach Cori
Thiermann announced Tuesday that Shaylene Oberg is
transferring from Southwestern Oregon Community College
to play for the Yellowjackets. Oberg is a 2005 graduate
of Billings West High School.
“Shay will be an excellent addition
to the Yellowjacket Softball program,” said Thiermann.
“Those who have seen Shay play in the area have seen her
hard work and determination to succeed. We are excited
to have her contribute to the success our program will
see next year.”
Oberg played two seasons at
Southwestern Oregon, earning second team all-conference
honors as a freshman. She was an all-state right
fielder for West High in 2005 when she batted .333 and
earned the team’s “Best Offensive Player” award.
“I chose MSU Billings because it is
a great program in both school and softball,” said
Oberg. “Also it is my hometown, and my family is there
to give me support on and off the field.” |
