McCartney Tabbed by Heartland

Jenna McCartney has been named the Heartland
Conference hitter of the week for the week of April
9-15. McCartney is a senior first baseman from
Hamilton, MT.
McCartney had the best hitting
weekend of her career to lead MSU Billings to a
four-game sweep of Incarnate Word last Friday and
Saturday. She was 7-for-11 at the plate for a .636
average in the four games. She had two doubles and her
first home run of the season for a 1.091 slugging
percentage, and also drew two walks for a .692 on base
percentage. For the weekend McCartney drove in five
runs and scored three times.
On Saturday, McCartney punctuated a
Senior Day doubleheader sweep by going a perfect 5-for-5
with a home run. In the first game win, she was 3-for-3
with three runs and three RBIs. In the four game
series, McCartney was also perfect in 29 chances at
first base.
The Yellowjackets wrap up the
regular season this weekend with six non-conference
games in three days. They play doubleheaders at Idaho
State on Friday and Saturday and host University of
Great Falls for two games on Sunday at Cenex Stadium.
MSUB will be the No. 3 seed at the Heartland Conference
Tournament which runs April 26-28 in San Antonio. |
