Jackets’ Palmer Earns Heartland Honor

Lorel Palmer has been named the Heartland Conference
hitter of the week for the week of February 26 to March
4. Palmer is a senior from Ogden, Utah.
Palmer batted .414 in eight games
to lead Montana State-Billings to a 5-3 record at the
Central Washington Invitational. She was 12-for-29 with
four runs, four RBIs, and three doubles. She posted a
slugging percentage of .517 and an on base percentage of
.433.
The Yellowjackets advanced to the
semifinals of the tournament, where they fell 2-1 to
22nd-ranked Seattle University. On Saturday Palmer tied
the school record for hits in a game when she went
4-for-5 in an 11-5 win against Saint Martin’s. She
matched the single game record on Sunday, going 4-for-4
in a 5-2 win against Western Oregon. |
