Jessica Frank was named the Heartland Conference
hitter of the week for the week of March 12-18. Frank
is a junior from Great Falls, Mont. The conference did
not announce the awards until this past Sunday.
In a series sweep over Heartland
Conference opponent Oklahoma Panhandle, Frank was the
driving force behind the Yellowjackets’ offense. In the
first game, the Yellowjackets earned an 8-6 win in extra
innings where Frank went 1-for-3 with two RBIs and a
double. The Jackets cruised to the 10-2 win in the late
game and saw Frank go 1-for-2 with one run and two
RBIs. On Sunday, Frank went 2-for-4 with a run and a
double in the 7-6 win over the Aggies in the early
game. The late game saw Frank blast away at the plate
going 4-for-4 with one run, one RBI, and one double.
Her four hits tied a school record for hits in a game.
For the week, Frank batted .615 going 8-for-13, scoring
three runs, five RBIs, and four doubles. |
