DENVER, CO – The Montana State
Billings men’s soccer team rounded its three-game road trip to
Colorado dropping their final game to Regis University 2-0
Monday in Denver. The Yellowjackets are 0-1-2 on the early
season with Regis University improving to 1-1-0.
The Jackets were out-shot by
the Rangers 11-6 with Regis having five shots on goal to the
Yellowjackets two. Regis University scored the first goal of
the game at the 27 minute mark. Ranger Lucas Grein took a pass
from teammate Mike Smith, taking the 1-0 lead at the half. With
a cluster of players in front of the MSUB net, an own goal was
scored giving the Rangers the solid 2-0 lead at 69:58.
Jurell Linford (Missoula, MT) was the only Yellowjacket on
target with the net taking two shots on goal. Four different
Rangers distributed their five shots on goal. Yellowjacket

Sander Tollefson (Missoula, MT) made three saves on the day
while the Rangers’ Trevor Steege had two.
The Jackets return home to
College of Technology Field to host Heartland Conference
opponents University of the Incarnate Word (0-0) on September
1. That game is scheduled to kick off at 3:30 p.m. The
Yellowjackets will then host St. Mary’s University (1-0-1) on
September 3 at 11:00 a.m. |
