Jacket Men Sign Midfielder (4/18/07)
BILLINGS, MT – Montana
State-Billings men’s soccer coach Dan McNally announced
Wednesday that Scott Dixon has signed a national letter of
intent to play for the Yellowjackets next season. Dixon is a
6-foot-1 midfielder from Weymouth, Dorset, England. He will
have three years of NCAA eligibility.
“Scott is a fantastic addition
to the men’s soccer program,” said McNally. “He has first class
technique and great athleticism. After watching him play last
Christmas in England, I knew immediately he was the player I was
looking for. I believe Scott will have a great career at
MSU Billings.”
Dixon was a four-sport athlete
at Wey Valley School, competing in soccer, track, volleyball,
and tennis. He was a three-time soccer player of the year at
Wey Valley School and a two-time player of the year at Weymouth
College. A five-year captain, Dixon helped lead his team to
five county cups and five area cups. Wey Valley was a South
England quarterfinalist in 2003.
The Yellowjackets are coming
off a 5-11-2 season. They will be joining the highly
competitive Great Northwest Athletic Conference beginning with
the 2007 season. MSUB kicks off fall training camp on August 6
and opens the season August 23 at Colorado Christian. |
