Three Yellowjackets Named All-Conference

BILLINGS, MT – The Montana
State-Billings men’s soccer team placed three players on the
27-member All-Heartland Conference team that was released
Sunday. The Yellowjackets finished the 2006 season 5-11-2 under
second-year head coach Dan McNally.

Sam
Charles (Fr., Chiswell, England) and
Tom
Milroy (Fr., Aberdeen, Scotland) were named to the
All-Conference first team while
Chris Cornish (Jr., Surrey, England) was named to the
All-Conference second team. Charles also took home individual
honors as he was named Co-Freshman of the Year. The honor is
the first for the three players.
Charles scored a team-leading
seven goals and 16 points ranking him fourth in the HLC.
Charles led the Conference with 3.39 shots per game and was
second in total shots with 61.
Milroy and Cornish anchored the Jackets defense in setting
numerous defensive records during the 2006 season. The duo kept
their opponents to just 25 goals in 18 games to finish the
season ranked first in school history with a goals against
average of 1.40. The team also posted a school record four
shutouts for 0.22 shutout percentage. |
