Jacket Baseball Adds
Assistant Coach (10/30/06)
BILLINGS, MT – Montana
State-Billings baseball coach Chris Brown recently announced
that he has hired Luke Wheeler as the Yellowjackets’ assistant
coach. Wheeler will be joining Brown, who is beginning his
second year as the Yellowjacket head coach.
“I am very pleased and excited
to have Luke Wheeler join our new program. He brings a plethora
of knowledge and passion for the game,” said Brown of his new
assistant coach. “He has experience at the Division I level,
and coach at the Legion, NAIA, NCAA, and NJCAA levels.”
Brown added, “He is a Rapid
City, SD guy that is very familiar with this area and
surrounding states. He was an integral part of the success that
the Northeastern Junior College program has had over the last
four years. He has stepped right in and made an immediate
impact.”
Wheeler joins the team in its
second season since its reintroduction to the Montana
State-Billings’ athletic program. In their inaugural season,
the Jackets began the year with 0-18 start, only to battle back
during the second half of the season to finish 15-35. |
