Yellowjacket Baseball to Help Build Habitat for Humanity
House (11/28/06)
BILLINGS, MT – It’s the off
season for college baseball teams, but the Montana
State-Billings Yellowjackets will be getting dirty this
weekend. Approximately 40 members of the MSUB baseball team
will assist in building a Habitat for Humanity house on
Saturday, December 2.
“It’s a good opportunity to
get our guys involved in the community,” said Yellowjacket head
coach Chris Brown. “This is a time of the year when you try to
give to other people and share some things. This is an
opportunity for us to get together as a group and do something
for a family in Billings.”
Groups of Yellowjacket players
will be involved in building the house currently under
construction at 3211 3rd Ave. South in Billings.
Different groups of players will volunteer between 8:30 a.m. and
4:00 p.m.
“Habitat for Humanity is a
good organization that has a worthy cause,” said Brown. “It’s
good for our guys to get experience with that. Part of our
responsibility as a community member is to give back. This is a
way for our group to have a positive impact. It’s also an
opportunity for a group activity. Some guys have experience
with that and others don’t. It’s a good chance for them to get
together off the field.” |
