Cross-Country Schedule Changed (9/15/05)
BILLINGS, MT – The Montana
State-Billings cross-country teams will travel west
instead of east this weekend due to a last-minute
schedule change. Originally scheduled to run at the
Dickinson State Invitational in North Dakota on
Friday, the Yellowjackets will now run at the
Montana State-Bozeman Invitational in Bozeman on
Saturday. The Dickinson State meet was cancelled
this week when officials at the school learned that
a wedding had reserved the same park at which the
cross-country meets are run.
The Yellowjackets competed at
the Black Hills State Invitational last weekend.
The women were led by Susan Kocab, a freshman from
Billings. She finished the 5K course in 21:38 to
place sixth. Rounding out the Lady Jackets’ scoring
runners were Tracie Overberg (Sr., Dodson, MT) in
12th place in 23:50, Cierra Dornfeld (Fr., Woodbury,
MN) in 13th place in 23:56, Tiffany Piplica (Jr.,
Riverton, WY) in 14th place in 24:11, and Diana
Davis (Sr., Kalispell, MT) in 15th place in 24:19.
Sam Hartpence, a junior from
Custer, SD, placed eighth in the men’s 8K in a time
of 30:22. Matt Roseberry (So., Chinook, MT)
finished 13th in 31:22, Joe Kragt (Jr., Worden, MT)
placed 20th in 32:53, Jared Rensvold (So., Wolf
Point, MT) placed 21st in 34:03, and Andy Zoeller
(So., Billings, MT) finished 23rd in 35:16.
Following Saturday’s race in
Bozeman, the Yellowjackets will be off until October
1 when they go to the Rocky Mountain Shootout hosted
by University of Colorado in Boulder. |
