Pocatello, ID - The Montana
State University-Billings men’s and women’s cross
country teams each placed third overall in the team
competition Saturday at Centennial Course. The meet
was hosted by Idaho State University.
Idaho State took top honors in
both the men’s and women’s races as well as the team
title. Lois Ricardi of ISU had a winning time of
15:55 in the 4K women's race with second place trailing by 27 seconds. Susan Kocab (Fr., Billings) led the Jacket women with a time of 17:11,
placing 6th. Other Yellowjacket points
earners were Cierra Dornfeld (Fr., Woodbury, MN) finishing 12th with a time of 18:03, Tiffany Piplica (Jr.,
Riverton, WY) at 18:43 finished 14th, Tracie Overberg (Sr., Dodson,
MT) 19:08 and 17th place, Kym Island (Fr., Columbia
Falls, MT) at 19:37 and
19th place, Kisa Kron (So., Livingston,
MT) finished 20th with 19:41, and Erin Gannon (Fr., Yankton,
SD) placed 21st coming in at 19:46.
Pacing the men was Idaho States
Saheed Khan, winning the 6k in a time of 19:51.
Leading the Jacket men’s team was Sam Hartpence (Jr., Custer,
SD) recording a time of 21:04 and
finishing 11th. Jarred Rensvold (So., Wolf
Point, MT) at 22:08 finished
20th, Matt Roseberry (So., Chinook,
MT) placed 23rd with a time of 22:32, Andy Zoeller (So., Billings)
at 22:53 and 26th place, Joe Kragt (Jr., Worden, MT)
at 24:06 placed 28th and Abram Hagstrom (Fr.,
Billings) at 24:31 also earned points for the
Jackets finishing in 29th place.
The Yellowjackets have two
weeks until they travel to Dallas, Texas to compete
at the Heartland Conference Championships October
22, hosted by Dallas Baptist.
