Lady Jackets Hold in Regional Poll (9/20/05)
BILLINGS, MT – Despite losing their only game
of the week, the Montana State-Billings women’s soccer team held
on at No. 5 in this week’s Midwest Region poll. The
Yellowjackets, 5-2-1 overall, are tied this week with fellow
Heartland Conference member Incarnate Word in the No. 5 spot.
The Yellowjackets dropped a 3-0 decision at
Carroll College on Sunday. Carroll is ranked 21st nationally in the NAIA. MSU Billings returns to Midwest Region
play on Saturday when the Yellowjackets host Colorado School of
Mines at 1:00 p.m. at the MSU Billings College of Technology. The
game will include a $3 barbeque as part of Futbol Frenzy Day.
Defending National Champion Metro State
remained the top team in the regional poll. They are followed by
fellow RMAC unbeaten Regis. There are three Heartland teams
ranked in the region with St. Mary’s slipping from sixth to
seventh.
